Rectangular rings

The rectangular ring is the robust alternative to the O-ring, especially under static loads.

Rectangular rings have a square or rectangular cross-section. Unlike O-rings, they do not twist in the groove (no spiral failure). They offer a larger sealing surface and are often used where high surface pressure and dimensional stability of the sealing element are required. Applications include coupling fittings in drinking water lines or drinking water systems.

  • High resistance to extrusion and twisting (material dependent)
  • Large contact area for improved static sealing
  • Materials such as NBR, EPDM, or FKM, depending on the medium
